According to the Customs General Department of Vietnam, in Oct 2018, Vietnam exported 15,460 tons of various pepper grades, including 13,358 tons of black pepper and 2,102 tons of white pepper. The total export turnover reached 46.89 millions USD, black pepper reached 38.62 millions USD, white pepper reached 8.27 millions USD. The average export price of black pepper in Oct reached 2,891 USD/ton, white pepper reached 3,933 USD/ton. As compared with Sep 2018, export volume decreased 15%, export value decreased 17%. The export price of black pepper decreased 92 USD/ton, white pepper decreased 11 USD/ton.
While other import markets decreased the import volumes as compared with Sep 2018, USA & China have still kept the import volumes. In Oct 2018, USA & China imported 6,318 tons, accounted for 40.87% per total pepper export volume of Vietnam. Olam & Pearl Corporation are the two largest exporters in Oct 2018, acounted for 11.6% and 10.8%.
