Vietnam: Local report said that VN pepper prices were dropping down and ranging between 48,000-50,000vnd/kg ex farmers. USD is getting stronger against VND has supported the export prices. However, there are still very hard competitions from Brazil (next crop Sep/Oct) and Indonesia (who used to export 16,200 tons out of its crop 42,700 tons during 2017).
On the contrary scenario, Indian Kerala was being suffered from historical flood and the spice market was seriously hit. Major of the pepper farms in Kerala was damaged and it is forecast the pepper supply will be short apparently from this area.
